Strengthen Through Encouragement | Acts 18:23 | Youth Takeover

Oct 26, 2025    Pastor Ben Jurkovich

In this powerful message from Acts 18:23, we discover what it truly means to be strengthened in our faith. Paul's ministry wasn't about playing favorites—he was committed to strengthening all disciples, not just some. The Greek word for 'strengthen' means to establish, render more firm, and support further. In our social media age where tearing down is easier than building up, we're challenged to actively encourage one another rather than choosing apathy. The sermon reminds us that Jesus never promised an easy life—in fact, He guaranteed tribulation in John 16:33. Yet He balances this difficult truth with an encouraging one: He has overcome the world. Throughout Scripture, from Matthew 28:20 to Psalm 139, we're reminded of one ground-shaking reality—God is with us. Always. Not just out there somewhere, but right here, in us, through His Holy Spirit. When we acknowledge our weakness, God's power is perfected in us. We don't need to flex our spiritual muscles alone; we need to recognize that with Christ, we are more than conquerors. This message calls us to humble ourselves under God's mighty hand, to actively build up fellow believers through encouragement, and to live with the confidence that comes from knowing the Almighty walks with us through every circumstance.
