Our Story

 
Calvary Chapel was founded in 1965 in Costa Mesa, California by the late Pastor Chuck Smith, who was a leading figure in what has become known as the "Jesus Movement."  Through Pastor Chuck's ministry hundreds of other Calvary Chapel affiliated churches have been started in cities, towns and communities across the globe.

Calvary Chapel Lake Stevens began in 1980 as Calvary Chapel of Everett. In 1983 Pastor Kelley Taylor came on staff as the Senior Pastor. In September 2001 Calvary moved to its current location in Lake Stevens after purchasing the current piece of property and constructing both the main building and youth building at this site.

Pastor Shane Algard, who has grown up at this church, took over as Lead Pastor on June 1, 2014 after working alongside Pastor Kelley for over 10 years in children, youth, college and various adult ministries. Pastor Kelley Taylor is now serving the Seniors Ministry and continuing as an Associate Pastor.
